From the remote La Guajira Desert, Sandra from the Ishipaa community and her family weave these colourful accessories putting love and time to make this one of a kind piece!
La Guajira is the largest dry area in Colombia. The lack of rain makes it really difficult to find the most basic need, which is water. They rely on a wind mill and a few basic wells. Bottled water is expensive and difficult to access from the village.
Your purchases support Sandra’s traditional family business to make a decent living while preserving indigenous ancestral techniques.
We believe work gives a sense of achievement and empowers communities. Work can break the poverty cycle!
