Description
Handwoven in Colombia with love
This poncho is made in 'Guanga' which is the traditional indigenous loom from the tribe 'Los Pastos'. Thi loom differently to the vertical loom, allows the weaving of the ancestral symbols which is really important for our communities as a way to pass on their traditions to future generations and keep their traditions alive.
The sourcing of the wool is completely artesanal and sustainable. Casa Bonita only sources this poncho from an artisan family and it takes them a while to collect the wool within their community. The wool is dyed with natural dyes.
This is a very warm poncho and can be made in the colour of your choice.
Know your artisans
From the Land of the ethnicity ‘Los Pastos' our artisan partners make honour to ‘Los Mayores’ (our elderly and ancestors) by using the vertical loom & symbols to preserve their heritage.
The high cold Andes from Cumbal (3,050 mts above sea) are the inspiration to make warm and soft homewars and ponchos in traditional earthy colours!
