Our storytime is about two dollies that represent the Wayúu Indigenous community from the North of Colombia, The Wayunquerra and Wayunquerro
These two dollies will show you where Colombia is, what activities their parents do and even show you how different their bedrooms are!
Did you know that chinchorros or hammocks and used to sleep?
These two lovely dollies will take you on a cultural trip to understand how different things are at their village compared to many other places, but also all the things in common that all kids have like love for face painting, colours and pompoms!
STORYTIME
Students will have the opportunity to listen to the story about the Indigenous Wayúu people of Colombia & Venezuela.
FACEPAINTING
Everyone will have the chance to get their face painted and learn about the symbology of the sun, the rain and the meaning of wearing it.
Teachers are welcome to help with this activity.
CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Explore the dolls, try on the Wayúu handwoven hats and bags!
Learn about the colours and who made them.
