Cook. Serve. Start a conversation.
This La Chamba Black Clay Guacamole Bowl is handcrafted by Astrid Betancourt Garcia and her family in La Chamba village, Colombia — a community that has been shaping black clay by hand for over 2,000 years. Deep, matte and impossibly tactile, it goes from stovetop to table with the kind of quiet confidence that mass-produced servingware simply cannot replicate. One bowl. Infinite stories.

Artisan Story:
The La Chamba technique originates from a small village on the banks of the Magdalena River in Colombia, where clay has been worked by hand for more than 2,000 years. Astrid Betancourt Garcia and her family — one of over 1,300 artisans from the village — shapes each piece on a wheel, fires it twice using rice husks, and hand-burnishes the surface with smooth river stones to achieve the signature deep black finish. The result is a piece that is simultaneously ancient and entirely contemporary. No two bowls are the same
