The Craft Story
These dolls are handcrafted in Los Patios, Norte de Santander, Colombia, by artisan María Stella Peñaloza Mora, who transforms recycled fabrics into vibrant cultural pieces.
Inspired by the Palenqueras, descendants of the first free African communities in the Americas, each doll celebrates a powerful story of freedom, resilience and cultural pride. Through colour, texture and design, these dolls preserve and share an important cultural legacy.

Handcrafted Variation
Each piece is handcrafted individually, meaning slight variations in tone, texture and measurement (up to 20%) are a natural part of the process — and what makes your piece entirely your own. This is not considered a fault.
