The Craft Story

The emeralds used in this design are known locally as morralla — natural emerald fragments that remain uncut and retain their organic form. They start their journey in Muzo, Boyacá, the legendary emerald capital of Colombia. Here, members of the Female Association of Guaqueras carefully search riverbeds and mining zones using artisanal techniques passed down through generations. Then, Artisan Ginna Sanchez in Barranquilla, carefully select each stone and set it by hand into textured gold-plated bronze that highlights the emerald’s vibrant green tones.  

Every piece carries the spirit of Colombian jewellery-making traditions while celebrating the natural beauty of gemstones in their most authentic state.
