The emeralds used in this design are known locally as morralla — natural Colombian emerald fragments that remain uncut, preserving their organic form. They begin their journey in Muzo, Boyacá, the legendary emerald capital of Colombia, where members of the Female Association of Guaqueras carefully search riverbeds and mining zones using artisanal techniques passed down through generations.

Artisan Ginna Sanchez in Barranquilla then selects each stone and sets it by hand into textured gold-plated bronze, pairing it with a premium pearl to highlight the emerald’s vibrant green tones.
