- Adjustable fit — includes complimentary foam insert and handwoven belt for personalised comfort
- Materials — Caña Flecha and natural dyes
Product Care:
- Avoid leaving your hat in hot environments such as inside a car
- If wet, gently shake off excess water and air dry in the shade
- Do not expose to direct heat or sun drying
- After use in very dry heat, lightly mist with water and allow fibres to rehydrate
Rollable Design — Travel Ready Functionality
Crafted from flexible Caña Flecha fibres using traditional Zenú techniques, the Sombrero Vueltiao is designed to roll without losing its shape — making it ideal for travel.
How to roll your hat:
- Lay flat and gently fold the brim upward on both sides
- Fold along the centre of the crown
- Roll softly from one side without applying pressure
- Secure lightly or place inside your carry-on bag
When unrolled, allow the hat to rest for a few minutes as the natural fibres regain their perfect shape.
The Craft Story
The Sombrero Vueltiao originates from the Zenú communities of Tuchín, Córdoba, where Caña Flecha weaving has been practised for over 500 years. Crafted by artisans from the Sombrero Vueltiao Association, each hat begins with harvesting, splitting and sun-softening native cane fibres before being intricately woven by hand.
Using 19 fine fibres, artisans create a distinctive pattern that gives the sombrero its strength, flexibility and iconic form. Recognised as a National Cultural Symbol of Colombia (Law 90 of 2004), this technique cannot be replicated by machines — making every piece a true work of living heritage.
Your Impact with Every Purchase:
- Your purchase directly supports Zenú Indigenous artisan families in Colombia
- Preserves a 500-year-old ancestral weaving tradition
- Every piece is unique — small-batch and never mass-produced

Handcrafted Variation Note
Each piece is handcrafted individually, meaning slight variations in tone, texture and measurement (up to 20%) are a natural part of the process — and what makes your piece entirely your own. This is not considered a fault.
Measuring your Head Size:
- Place a tape measure at the centre back of your head
- Bring it forward above your ears and below your hairline
- Meet at the centre of your forehead
- Keep the tape firm but not tight for a comfortable fit
