The Craft Story
Handcrafted in the Ishipaa Community, La Guajira Desert, Colombia, these mochila bags are created by Sandra Aguilar and her family, part of the Wayuu Indigenous community.
According to Wayuu legend, a sacred spider taught women the art of weaving. Today, artisans continue this legacy by weaving their connection to nature, culture and identity into every design. Each mochila reflects the dreams, creativity and spiritual symbolism of the woman who created it.
