The Craft Story
These Wayuu Textured Cushions are handcrafted in the Ishipaa Community, La Guajira Desert, Colombia by Sandra Aguilar and her family, part of the Indigenous Wayuu community known for their rich textile traditions.
Using traditional crochet and punch-needle techniques, each cushion is carefully created by hand, weaving together colour, geometry and texture into expressive designs. This practice is deeply rooted in Wayuu culture and storytelling, inspired by the legend of the sacred spider who taught women to weave.
Each piece is a unique expression of the Artisan’s creativity and cultural identity, carrying both meaning and heritage into your home.
